Your hub is minidp to the videocard right?

Monoprice to the rescue. http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10246&cs_id=1024602&p_id=5501&seq=1&format=2

Cheap enough not to break the bank if it doesnt work well. Some mixed reviews there.

The hub's cable is short so I'm thinking of getting an extension. Any issues using a mini extension cable (if they exist confused.gif)?

DO NOT do it, everything I have read and even from some manufacturer posts itself say it's a big nono. Sorry I don't have the posts handy.

Each monitor by itself connected through DP to the video card runs perfectly. I'm not using any adapters for connections. The monitors are connected with DP to the hub directly.

I saw in an earlier post that the accell version of the hub is available through microcenter. It just so happens that one opened next door to me last week! So I ran there this morning and picked up the hub. I'll connect it later tonight to see if this hub behaves in the same manner.

Let me know how it goes as well. I have slightly long DP to DP cables which I think are causing my issues but I see weird noise in the picture on one of the two monitors, and an occasional 3 second black out with no image. I'm not sure if it is the hub or just my cable length, I will get new (shorter) better quality cables and test again.

I have the same blackout's as well on both screens. I don't think it's the cable length. I have 3 meter cables that came with my monitors. That's not exceptionally long by any means. They seem like good quality, but they were included with the displays. So quality "may" be an issue.

Well... It doesn't seem like the hub is the problem, as both hub exhibit the same behavior. Random momentarily screen drop outs and artifacts. I've tried two different dp cables as well and they both exhibit the same issues. One, is the cable supplied with my monitor and the other a monoprice cable. Not exactly what you'd call top notch quality, but still.

I'm kind of at a loss on what to do next right now. Maybe I'll try these montiors connected to the hub through dvi with active dp adapters, but I have a feeling it wont make much difference.

edit - it's worth noting that this only happens once I load into windows 8.1. In bios none of the screens connected to the hub show any abnormalities. This leads me to believe that it has something to do with drivers or the way windows handles the screens, but doesn't get me any closer to a solution.

edit2 - so from what little research that I have done. "Sparkling" artifacts and signal drop outs over DP are from a weak signal. How would one go about boosting the signal...?

Would like to know more about this. Was hesistent in pulling the trigger mainly due to stupid white (thanks CrApple) when I saw these are actually 1.1 and may not work w/ the 1.2 hub. I cable-tied it to the STH10 handle for now. I'll check Accell's site for more info and if they have any 1.2 mini extensions.

Could be your cables mate.

One thing that I'm seeing is ppl w/ quads having issues and going triple helps. Another is w/ the displayport and Hawaii in general.

You could always try the Accell 1.2 cables also I see your running Windows 8.1..... I would try Windows 7.

I've tried disabling crossfire to see if it makes any difference and the results were the same. I'll try some accell cables. biggrin.gif

Just ordered a pair of dp cables straight from accell. Lets see if it makes any difference. Thanks as always! thumb.gif

Tried win 7 tonight. Results were the same. So just waiting on the accell cables now to see if it makes a difference.

Received my Accell displayport cables and I'm afraid the results are the same. Sparkling artifacts and intermittent black screens when using these eizo monitors through the hub.

In touch with club3d support over email. Hopefully they might be able to steer me in the right direction. Otherwise I may loose all my senses and just buy a 295x2 and punt this hub out of the window.
