Sony planning multimedia PS3 - Page 3

It seems like Sony is trying to make up for something here.... Especialy in the way the specs are worded. It's like they know they messed up, and this newer, higher priced "console entertainment system" is going to fix it? I can see the usefulness of dual HDMI outs, but I also agree with HrnyGoat: Who wouldbe using them, save somebody into video editing/manipulation; and those people will usualy be on PC's with a BluRay drive anyway if they wanted the technology!

I thought they were gonna add dual HDMI support at first so two player games could be played from the same console on two different screens so you never had to go splitscreen. At least that was my understanding of it.

Judging by the direction they're currently headed in, I'm willing to bet thats their next idea.

Except that the RSX would have a huge amoung of trouble rendering 2 screens. The PS3 has bad enough framerates as it is. If it did run 2 screens, it would probably render both in 480p, or else run at 15 FPS. Either way, just better to stick with one screen.

1. It'll cost too much
2. 360's price is going to drop once microsoft fix their issues
3. ps3 price will drop once the blu-diode production rack up higher (sharp is starting their production soon) and hdmi 1.3 is more available. Being the 1st machine with hdmi 1.3 is like being the 1st tv with 1080p, cost an arm and a leg.
4. 2x hdmi would equal to being able to play on 2 different tv's or that one to the tv and one to the receiver as some receivers have problems with hdcp once passing through the hdmi. (I know it sounds dumb, but it happens.)

Oh yeh.....I know it wouldn't work Lmao. Like I said (OOPS..didn't say it here...said it on another thread), I played that racing game for it and it started lagging up when I ripped around a corner with four other cars on my screen....thats pathetic. (although, like I said in the other thread, it still looked pretty sweet)

I just find it funny they are trying to do this again when they obviously took it off the PS3 because it couldn't handle it..

They are trying too much to make it look like a computer. Gaming console=restricted computer usage to gaming only
