what's your take on slot/port dust covers?

Thread Starter
For I/o panel ports and ram/pci/sata slots.

I wasn't even thinking about these but I was shopping on frozencpu and they cost 35-50 cents. A full load out down to protecting all the 3.5mm audio jacks would cost like $10. Not convinced I need them but maybe it will be aesthetically pleasing.

But I'm just curious. Anyone think they're actually useful? I do have lots of dust in my room from the dogs who go trail walking every day. But, I will be using dust filters and positive pressure, and the case will go on top of my desk rather than the floor. And it's a mid tower so the mobo hangs vertically. But, they're so cheap...

I used to have a lot of things like that. Pretty worthless IMO for the most part. Unless you just never take care of your rig and really let dust cake on your parts.

I got some dust covers that came with my Sabertooth board, so I do use them only because they came with the board. But it's not something I would have actively looked for otherwise. I agree with deafboy above...as long as you take care if your rig, dust won't be a major issue. smile.gif
