7600GT vs. 7600 GS (512mb version)

Ok so i know that i dont have any computer specs because i am in the middle of building mine currently. But in order to build a gaming rig you gotta have a kick ass video card. So i am stuck between these two cards. As the title says my choices are 7600 GT and 7600 GS 512mb. Now i realize that the 7600GT has way faster clock speeds in memory as well as core. But the GS has twice the memory. I don't know which is better to have more memory or higher clock speeds. Also the GT is GDDR3 memory while the GS is GDDR2 memory so i dont know if that plays in as well. Now not only do i need to know which card to choose but i need to know what the max clocks would I be able to get with the stock cooling on the cards. Brands dont matter that much but for the GT I am looking at the XFX version (not the crazy overclocked one) and for the GS im lookin at EVGA. If that matters then there you go. But please i need help on this to build a good gaming rig. Thanx for your help.

i owned the gs and was not that impressed. i would go for the gt def. you will notice a positive difference with the gt over the gs. how much money are you looking to spend i am sure you could at least go to the 7800 or 7900 series with just a bit more money.........

He doesn't need 512mb, that card will be better than both cards he said even though it has 256mb
