Google search it, first result, take a look at this - http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/optix/en/opti_745techspecs.pdf
CPU's supported are Core2 Duo e6000 series, Pentium D and Celeron D.

While the Core2Extreme you purchased will fit in the Socket LGA775 but it's not compatible with the motherboard that comes with the Dell Optiplex 745 Series desktops.
So unless you wanna swap the motherboard out, your best option would be something like a Core2Duo e6800 if you can pick one up on ebay.

Otherwise, if you're gonna keep that QX6800 you better get an LGA775 mobo that will support it, please check CPU compatibility first!
Same goes for memory, the mobo in the OptiPlex 745 series takes up to 8gb 800Mhz (max 2gb per channel).
But if you're going to buy a new motherboard for the QX6800 you bought, memory compatibility on that board might give you more options.

As for the 7750, having built a couple systems with that card, all i can do is recommend it as a decent, well priced budget gaming card for entry level gaming systems. biggrin.gif

Just buy anything that will support the CPU, and the type/amount of RAM you're looking into aswell.
