just go for the i5 4670k and the z87 gigabyte wifi, you can overclock later on if you need to. I hope you havent pulled the trigger yet tongue.gif

I say the only downside for having mITX is you would need a more expensive gpu to offset the power of a single gpu vs sli/crossfire. That and no room for and additional soundcard. mini DTX FTW

Naa, I think I'm going with the i5-4670 and the H87 board. I don't think the extra $40 is worth the few FPS I might gain from a little overclocking.

As far as mITX as my choice, I wouldn't ever add a PCIe sound card. If I wanted to add a audio card, I would add an external one. I also have no need for Crossfire/SLI, so that's not a concern. Gah, so hard to say no to overkill but money isn't unlimited!

Historically, a new card will come with a new computer. My previous cards lasted the lifetime of my past computers (2-3 years). 6970, 4950, and 2950GT being the last three to last 2-3 years each. R9 290 should last me 2 years, no problem.

ok the K cpu will help but not huge difference so I suggest go with lowest cost mobo and get I5 4670 spend most money on the gpu to get most fps you can get

what Gpu you thinking now ?

Yeah, that's pretty much what I did. I went with the H87 version of the board I wanted and saved $20. I also went with the i5-4670, instead of the 4670k.

For GPU, I currently have my mind set on the R9 290. However, it will probably be Jan/Feb before I order, so I may go for the 290X depending on costs at that time. Maybe there will be a good Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal on the 290 or 290X? Might be tempted then. smile.gif

Yes if you will go r290x then wait by that time try will release after market coolers , also if you want you can use the system now with internal graphics till you decide what gpu

It's almost like I planned it that way. wink.gif

This was actually the main reasons for going with the i5 and the chosen board, instead of a Xeon E3 or E5.
