Dvi-dvi Vs Hdmi-dvi

I was wandering if it was worth it to buy a HDMI-DVI because my monitor is HDMI while my gpu is DVI. It probably isnt but any difference please tell me.

The main difference between DVI and HDMI is that HDMI can also carry sound as well as video. No real point in getting a DVI-HDMI adapter if your monitor already has a DVI port. Most video cards do not have HDMI and transfer the sound signal.
