2TB Drive(s) for Steam Folder

Thread Starter
I built a new system with a 250GB Samsung Evo SSD for Windows & Programs, but it won't even come close to holding all of the games I've purchased through Steam. I currently have around 800GB and I'm sure that will grow, so I'm looking for a good 2TB storage option to use as my Steam drive.

I was considering a single 2TB drive, and also a pair of 1TB drives in RAID0. Newegg has a 1TB Seagate Barracuda for $58 shipped after promo code, I was wondering if a pair of them ($116) would meet my needs well. They also have a 2TB WD Red for $90, but I'm guessing the Reds aren't great for gaming.

I know if I spend a lot more I can get faster drives, but I'd like to keep the cost reasonable. Also, I can deal with the hassle of potentially getting a DOA drive, but would be pretty upset if the drive worked well at first but kicked it within 2-3 years, as all that time spent downloading, installing, and optimizing the games would be wasted. So I'm looking for a drive(s) with a decent average lifetime, but again, reasonable cost.

Thanks!

Think the Seagate one's should do the trick. Plenty fast for games in the systems I have used it with at least, and that is alone! So in RAID 0 these should give you no problems at all thumb.gif
