My list o' problems

Thread Starter
- When I go into "Control Panel", "Printers and Other Hardware", "Mouse", the tab "Pointers", and then select a pointer besides "none", a bunch of errors come up that the files are missing or corrupt. This started when I did a System Restore a long time ago, and I suppose something transferred oddly.

- I have Hamachi on my computer because I needed it for "Yugioh Virtual Desktop" or "YVD", an online Yu-Gi-Oh! game. I'm a big Yu-Gi-Oh! player, so I liked this game for a while. When I try and uninstall Hamachi, it says there's a missing file. This is probably because I did a System Restore recently and that it lost a file in the process. Can I still uninstall it through "Add/Remove Programs"?

- Same goes for the "YVD" game I mentioned.

- Here's the biggest problem on here. I had Flyakite OSX on my computer, and it alters crap so, you know those loading screens when you start your computer that you need to see in order to get into BIOS? Well, it disabled those and replaced it with an Apple loading screen. So, it said on the Flyakite OSX site that if I uninstall it, everything would be fine. Well, it's all good except I don't see those first loading screens, I see nothing until the Windows "welcome" screen. Is there a way to turn these screens back on?

- When I choose Shut Down, I used to have a "Stand by" option, I can no longer access that for some reason.

-When I go into "Start", "Games", and click on "Pinball", it flashes up for a second and that's all.

If you could please help me with any of these, especially the last one, that would be much appreciated.

I can't stop laughing at the fact that you play yu-gi-oh.

Like bentrinh said, just format. You probably need it anyways.

But it's fun...lol

Anywho, I'm a computer n00b, how do you back up files and junk? Is there a formatting walkthrough somewhere?

well you have many options you can do
first you can backup via burning important stuff you need onto a cd
or you can create a new partition on the empty space on your hd, then you can transfer the important data to the new partition you created, or you can get an external hd and save your important data to that, and finally you can install windows without formating the drive which is something i don't recommend

The way I see it, there really isn't anything worth backing up. Everything I need should be on the Windows disk and the games I want I can just reinstall, same for 3rd party software and my Graphics Card, so if you know of something that I don't, please tell me.
