[IGN] Call of Duty: Native 1080p on PS4, 720p on Xbox One? - Page 2

At least they know their limitations. I would rather have lower res and decent fps.
If the consoles want to get serious in the living room, they are going to have to increase both resolution AND frame rates. Most home flat screens TV are mostly 1080p/60hz standard (minimum), with new sets coming in at 4k resolution or 120-240Hz (or both). Frames>Fidelity imo.

The third video in the source link shows the devs stating that their player base aren't gamers, but they do play one game constantly, Call of Duty. yea.

That would mean they would have to cost more so they can have better hardware. Consoles work because they're fairly cheap and easy to use. I don't mean to generalize, but I don't think many console gamers really care about fidelity or frame-rates. They just want to play games.

a GCN 768 core chip can do 1080p technically? I mean, COD isn't that hard to run, but that kind of GCN card can't be so weak it has to drop to 2.2x less resolution than ps4, at least upscaled 1600x900 will do.

No one who is buying Call of Duty on either console cares about what resolution the game is running at. If they did, they wouldn't be buying it on a console in the first place.

This goes for pretty much any game on consoles really. No one playing on consoles really cares what resolution it runs at, or any technical stuff. I play on consoles simply because more of my real life friends have consoles than they do PC's capable of gaming ( most still use rather dated core2duo w/ on board graphics or older than dirt graphics cards that can barely handle the windows 7 chess game ).

Something tells me that even if the ps4 could handle 1080p and not the xbox, infinity ward would limit the ps4 just so that the xbox wouldn't look bad.

I'm very disappointed in this "Next Gen" and won't be buying anything unless I see a very sweet deal or maybe when the inevitable "slim" versions come out.

And I am a dudebro. I play GTA and COD and sports exclusively.
