[IGN] Battlefield 4: Xbox One/PS4 Graphics Comparison - Page 3

Good comparison of PC/PS4/X1

It appears that PC & X1 are using the same models and ground textures... PS4 is using simplified ground textures and models/assets in many areas. The most noticeable are the ground textures, check the rocks, placement, amount and detail. They stay the same on X1 and PC but change for PS4... Also the soldier's backpacks have much more detail (mesh, logos, stiching, padding, material textures, etc) on the PC and X1, but are simplified to on PS4 build. Will be interesting how they stack up for the final.

Clearly the X1 is using too much contrast and is lacking AO... There is a little more aliasing, but it seems like they chose to go with more detailed game assets (same with PC version)... PS4 seems does have the AO and bit better resolution or AA, but it's unfortunate to see simplified textures and models.

As a competitive gamer, I'd choose the console that performs better.

But seeing as I'm not a console gaming peasant, I'll stick to PC.

So people are gonna go 'lol console', but I'm getting major visual issues in BF4 on PC so.... Flickering textures in multi, rainbow lights in SP. Using a 660ti. Can actually go to ULTRA on it though, and the frame rate is smooth, with my card not even peaking at its normal temp ceiling... anyone know of this issue or a fix?

Is it because Sony mandates that all games on the PS4 be 1080P native?

PC version is the version im getting anyway, but i still want to wait till they compare xbox vs ps4 versions side by side running on their hardware. This article was taken running on PC's with developers build comparable PC's. They should just wait the 2 weeks and run the versions that come out on the actual hardware. Im sure there are plenty of reasons xbox one and ps4 haven't let anyone test the products running on hte actual hardware yet.

Personally I think at first glance and while playing you won't really see a difference, it's only when you really look close in at the detail that it starts to become noticeable that the PS4 looks more sharp, AA is higher, same with resolution. That's what I see anyway.

Wow the fifth set of screen shots the same orange brick is used three times and it looks bad, plus the bottom one looks weird like it was painted on the ground or something, it looks like something from the early 2000's.

Edit: sorry about the swearing
