This! So much this! Killzone looks waaaaayyyyyyyyy better on consoles than BF4, don't use a multiplatform game for judgement... PC will always be king but for the elitist denying the graphical leaps the consoles made rolleyes.gif
You're wrong so wrong but its ok thumb.gif Killzone and Infamous (Driveclub is shaping up nicely now too) are games which IMO surpass BF4 console edition in graphical fidelity.

What are you basing all of this on?

You're only regurgitating what the freelance writer has said and he has already been refuted by DF. "Why isn't anyone else's footage from the same event showing the crushed blacks?

EA provided Elgato Game Capture HD consumer-level devices at the Stockholm event. They're great little units but they are unsuitable for DF work because they cannot acquire 1080p at 60 frames per second and they do not provide lossless video. The reason they do not show crushed blacks on Xbox One is because they operate at limited range RGB (16-235)"

Weaker hardware with less color ranges captured more detail? That doesn't make a lick of sense to me sounds like he's speaking PR because Jackfrag's capture even the XB1 footage looks better...

The multiplayer isn't a reflection of anything as you get lower quality art assets compared to single player. SP is where it's at and even then, XB1 version is lacking AO and other effects that will be patched in on launch day.

Multplayer requires more GPU power (hence the lower art assets), yes or no? PS4 has a superior performing MP, yes or no?

Personally, I think Ryse, Killzone and Infamous look better than BF4.

Agreed on the games list, Forza's last build was looking great also.

You guys seem to be forgetting some things:

With the convergence of consoles and PC, buying an Xbone or PS4 when you have a gaming computer is going to become more and more of a waste. We are seeing these consoles turn into "poor man gaming PCs" It's a good thing, and to be honest, with the gen the only console I'd really consider getting is a 3DS or Wii U because Nintendo is going to have the only platform that distinguishes itself from the PS4/XBone/PC ports.

The launch quality of of 360 games were horrible.
http://www.ign.com/images/games/call-of-duty-2-xbox-360-743289/4fa6ca2ecdc388ed13ecebe9

Compare that with Crysis running on 360.

My point is that the release titles look horrible compared to games further on into the console's life cycle, and this happens with every console. Compare release N64, Gamecub, Xbox, PS2, PS1, NES, SNES Genesis games to games that came out later in the system's lives and you'll see that it holds true all the time.

I think a lot of you are going to have to realize that the consoles are now just "exclusive" machines used for playing a few exclusive games and that every common game between next gen console and PC is going to easily be a win for PC. It's going to be up to you if you want to drop the money on console to play Killzone or Halo or whatever and then have a worse experience on the consoles than you would on your mid-range gaming PCs.

The only thing this is good for is recommending systems to friends who aren't into PC Gaming, and for me I'd tell them to get PS4 anyways because MS already has too many bad ideas in regards to DRM (even though they cancelled plans MS is still thinking about doing something so bad) and there are rumors of the XBone OS being a complete disaster at launch.

The only thing the whole XBone/PS4 comparison thing is good for for us PC master race folk is for recommending systems to people who are still console peasants.

BF4 is a poor example of quality because it has multi-platform in mind. If we really care to look at the best quality we need to look at games that have been worked on specifically for the hardware.

MGS5 looks far more amazing than BF4 could ever look. Also the live tech demos of the newer final fantasy engines are something that wows me.

While this IS true you do have things like Ryse, a Xbox One specific game, that's running at 900p and 30fps. I mean, I don't know about you, but I would expect a big title, AAA, exclusive on a NEXT-GEN console to be running at AT LEAST 1080p. Now, while I don't think X1 games will ever look "bad" but the point here is that despite the months of rumors and developers saying stuff the PS4 is IN FACT a faster console. If BF4 is to be used as a benchmark the PS4 seems to be substantially faster at that!

I believe it was X1's choice to use eSRAM was wrong. They could've gotten more performance if they pushed the release of DDR4 sooner. If X1 also used GDDR5 and remained it's same specs it could probably render 1080p 30fps just fine.

With all the hysteria, I expected more tbh..

I think this is exactly as expected, being honest. The PS4 has better hardware, and thus fares better and seemingly looks better. ( Though I'll be dead honest and admit I didn't see a difference until all the stills and stuff).

Seeing as I've been here longer then you, yes, I do what overclock.net is about. I am guessing if you were old enough back when there was an amiga vs atari computer debates, you would of been at home doing comparisons instead of actually bothering to enjoy the computers.

Debating is great, when you actually have the games to compare, but seeing as people are going off screenshots/videos, it's sort of like talking about all the features they say will be in game, before it gets release (and if you've been gaming for any amount of time, you quickly realize that what they claim will be in games rarely make it).

Plus these are screenshots from review copies, which at least MS has claimed their final product will be different. So you aren't even comparing retail versions of the game. And if you have been gaming for any amount of times, you know that pre-retail copies aren't always the same as the retail version.

Enjoy your debate.
