Dunno where you've read that, but there haven't been any reports of the Qnix/X-Star monitors failing.

Probably just people who don't actually own any of these monitors perpetuating myths.

If you have to have multiple inputs I would go with a multi-input Qnix QX2710 (which can overclock to 120Hz for $300) or CrossOver Black Tune 2763AMG for $400.

Where is the Qnix QX2710 with multiple inputs for $300? Cheapest I found it for on ebay was from accessorieswhole for $360 or $380. Could you link it?

Yes, the one with multi-input is more expensive for sure, that price you mentioned is about right.

Before you pull the trigger on Monoprice also consider the multi-input Achieva Shimian QH2700 Lite Edge and CrossOver BlackTune AMG 2755 or 2763.

@ OP

I think it is a good buy... if its down the street from you and makes warranty service eaiser always go that route because time always cost money - I rather deal with something down the street than the other side of the world... if Monoprice gives you hassale you can always toilet paper their cars...LOL

A lot of the allure comes from their location and customer service. Or should I wait for the g-sync thingymabobstuff?

Both of those are valid reasons to get a specific product. Convenience is sometimes just as important as quality and price. I'm not sure what to think of g-sync. It seems like a really cool idea but seems like it will be a limited release for a while.

Here are a few videos of Linus talking with Tim Sweeney (founder of Epic Games) about g-sync.

Go with what you want, and if you have the cash to burn with an added dp, go get the 2763 for $440. If you want multi input that puts you at ease, get the monoprice. If you want a cheap and accurate multi input monitor like the crossover 2755 amg (though it doesnt overclock like the qnix does), get the crossover 27qw.

If you want an all rounder, get the qnix qx2710 for$360

hmmmmmmmm. Well I do know that I definitely want a 1440p monitor, don't really care about how many inputs since I use the dvi. Refresh above 60hz would be a benefit, but not a necessity. Need something that will last at least 3 yrs. $500 or less also. Quality and warranty are very high on the list as well.

I ordered the Crossover 27QW I didnt care about the hdmi, displayport inputs since im just going to use the dvi input. Its the same panel as the 2735/2755/2763amg panel just doesnt have all the extra inputs. Also I dont like the touch buttons on the amg models so I bought the 27QW and its cheaper too.

If you are worried for warranty you can buy squaretrade warranty for like $40.

I didnt get the squaretrade. The monitor comes with a 1 year warranty.
