right now nothing beats a HD 7970 matrix platinum (1100 mhz) at £240. with 3 free games. grab it.

I think i already told you a while ago. I actually bought this card and took it back because it didn't fit, and when I got it back there I was told by staff they have had many of them returned due to artifacting out of the box. So even now that I have made space for longer cards by sawing my hard drive cage in half, I wouldn't want to rebuy it.

check edit

I've got room for any graphics card I want now but I wouldn't want to rebuy the matrix because of the artifacting. I have actually bought and returned the asus 280x as well lol, because I got it and was still having second thoughts about it so never installed it. I think that's turned out to be a good decision because of all the price drops that have happened since, and now I get to check BF4 benchmarks before making my mind up too. But yeah I might even end up rebuying it. I still don't want to have to buy an ASUS card that much though...

Whatever I buy next I want to be completely certain of and don't want to have any second thoughts.

How long does it take for Newegg or other top sellers to restock.?
I am very close to finishing my build, and now saving for the GPU.
seems 280x is my 1st choice, but you never know until the money leaves the bank what you'll get.
the Matrix is an eye catcher, and don't they hand pick the best cpu's for the cards.?

I was able to play BF4 on my very old system, i still can't believe i was able to play.
I had this thing since 2007, just can't handle the new games.

Win Vista64,
Intel E6600 duo 2x 2.4GHz no OCing
8GB ram
AMD HD 4850 1GB

I just got the non-TOP version of this card. I'm gonna be overclocking it tonight to see what I can squeeze out of it. I'll post on here soon with the results (that is, if anyone is interested?)

The TOP has a higher guaranteed clock out of the box. There's no guarantee it will OC any better. 1070 MHz isn't that great for a TOP card, considering (almost?) all 7970 could easily reach 1100 MHz.

With MATRIX cards you're usually limited to ASUS's GPU Tweak when it comes to voltage control (and/or fan control), because of the special components used. Keep that in mind before you buy one. The 280X DC2T V2 has the ancient 3 slot cooler, I would avoid that one.

OK. Spent a little time overclocking the non-TOP card. I've got it to 1150/1700 so far and stable with a voltage of 1.2 and power limit of +20%. Needed to put a custom fan profile on to keep it under 70C (not sure what the highest recommended temp is?) I'm sure it can go higher, I just wanna check out games now!
