Thanks. I'm not really sure how much time I've got in this thing all together so far. It's about 2 years old. I first started out with a Thermal Take Bigwater and have replaced that pos with a Zalman 9500. I had an ATI X800 Pro that I took out because of a bad flash and put in a Nvidia 6800GT. Within the next few weeks I'll be installing an ATI X1950Pro512 and replacing my Crucial 512x4 value ram with some high quality 1024x2 ram. I also use to have an MSI 865PE Neo 2 Platinum Plus that got screwed up so I replaced with an Asus P4S800D-X that's not as good. I hope to RMA the MSI next week as it's still under warranty. I took off the door a couple of weeks ago because it wasn't fully closing because of the fan controller. Funny, I use to like the door but now that I've taken it off I like it better. I still have several more things I plan to do before I'm through with this "Old Rig". Soon I want to remove the huge window fan and cut out for a larger clear Plexiglas plain side panel with no fans or vents. I'll also install a better 120 front intake fan and add another 92 to the bottom. As soon as I finish the speakers I'll paint the case. I've changed my mind a few times on what color I want for my case. Right now I want to paint it red and replace the ugly feet with polished aluminum ones. I'll probably paint the interior flat black and install cathode lights.

Thanks man.

I've been so busy that I've not had time to finish my speakers but this weekend I've promised myself to try to. All I really need to do is wet sand with some 2000 and clear coat. Oh, I also need some feet for the sub and cathode lights. I'll order the lights this week and get the feet local.
Also this week I'm buying the paint for the case, fire engine red. I've been doing some thinking about my computer desk too. I've decided to mod my desk so I can move my case up higher to show it off. I plan to do some creative lighting as well and add black paint with red trim to the desk. You guys are gonna love what I have in mind. Hopefully it want take me forever to finish.

Tore my rig down last week to the frame. A few days ago I applied a light coat of flat black to the insides. I have areas that I haven't hit yet but I will with the next coats.

I still haven't finished the speakers yet. I plan to do some work on them this weekend. Wet sand with 2000 grit and then start applying clear coat. I was going to paint the ring around the speaker silver but because I'm now going to paint the case red I might paint the ring red too or leave black.

Here is a pic of the video card I will buy when they become available. I know it really doesn't have anything to do with a case mod but man, it looks so good. If the fans could be changed out with the same type in chrome and the black plastic chromed too, wow! Would look awesome don't you think? Hope I can end up with a rig half as good as some of the ones I've seen here in OCN. Oh, by the way that's a Gecube X1950XT in Agp. http://sg.vr-zone.com/?i=4681.

Hey, Good job man!

A good luck with the upgrades, that X1950 will be a nice little "Umph" of power!

I do have a suggestion, try truing around your hard drive, so you cannot see the wires as easily..

Good job and keep going!

EDIT: Take your time with the paint, you will regreat it if you rush.

Try lots of thin coats, mildly sanding high spots.

Thanks NOS---. I'll be getting a X1950XT or maybe a Nvidia xft7950gt. It will probably be a while though before they come out which is just fine by me since it's gonna take some time for me to finish my case. I looked at your case mods you have in your sig, nice work. Maybe I'll end up changing my title to Case Moder too before too long. I'm finding it's a ton of work to do a job right but anything worth doing is worth doing right. Right? I just got through adding another good coat of flat black to the interior. One or two more coats should do it. I bought some Cherry Red Gloss Enamel today and as soon as I'm done with the interior I'll start on the exterior, probably tomorrow. I plan to wet sand the factory paint till silky smooth carefully trying not to sand through. If I do then I'll have to prime any bare metal spots. When the case is all smooth I'll apply about four or five thin coats before wet sanding. Then I'll apply another three or four coats and wet sand again. I want settle for anything less than perfect. Last night I started putting together a parts list. I'm replacing all the fans with SilenX fans because I'm wanting to keep this rig as quiet as possible while still having good air flow. I'll be doing away with my 250mm side fan as it's too damn big, hides the view. Instead I'll have two 92mm fans on the bottom blowing up, 120 front intake, 120 rear exhaust and 120 or 140 top exhaust. I'll install a large window with no fans. I want to also mod my psu but I'm thinking about maybe getting a Hiper. I'm getting a sata hd too because of the smaller cable. I'll soon be posting back here with pics. To all you fellow modders.

Thanks, the only mod I think I got right was the #20 mod.

Did you look at Silverstone fans? Most of the time they are silent, and they even come with fan controllers.

Last but not least, Stay away from Hiper. If you need a nice PSU, look for a silverstone strider, and if on a budget, the FPS 450W.

Keep going!
