Are you still getting rid of the side fan?? I will buy it. PM me. I have mesh on the side (see avatar) of my case and want to put a 250mm fan on the side.

A few pic updates for you.

Wish I would have cut out for the exhaust fan first, oh well.

This is a before pic of my windowed side panel less the Plexiglas and fan. I am gonna clean it up for a new fan-less piece of plexy.

Jigsaw for a quick clean cut.

Much cleaner look don't you think?

Cleaned up the cut and primed. Will add a few more coats before wet sanding.

Cherry Red Gloss. This is after 4 coats. I allowed drying time between each coat. I also wiped off surface with slightly damp clean cotton cloth before each coat was applied.

I just received email that my new fans and cathode lights are in transit.
I'm tryin to find woven mesh to use in my mod. I've contacted one place so far and I'm waiting to hear back from them. Stainless Steel woven mesh. Also I'm tryin to find an aluminum or stainless steel bezel for my top 120 exhaust fan and a rectangle one for my front intake fan. This is about what I'm shootin for to use on top and I might get this except I'd rather have woven wire mesh for the screen though. The same thing for the front too except in rectangle shape.

I'll post more pics soon as I'm startin to pick up the pace on my mod now.

Wow nice project, I love how well you manage your cables, I can't seem to do that, but I see you put em behind the motherboard, that might do the trick ^_^

splat00n, I ran my psu cables behind the backplate the mb mounts to. I took off my back side cover and ran the cables out an opening that was already there to the front of my rig at the bottom then to whatever devices.

My order came from FrozenCpu.com today.

Fans and cold cathodes.

I also received my rma MSI Neo 2 Platinum mb today. I added a couple of more coats of paint to the sub and side panels too. I put my Crucial 512x4 ram in my Gateway so I'll be buying new ram for my game rig soon. G.Skill 1024x2 good stuff. I also need to get some wire mesh too.

Thanks. The Soprano is a fine looking case. However I was itching to try my hand at a case mod. This is certainly a learning experience for me. I would not recommend the 250mm fan though as it is so big. It hides everything making the window useless. I would rather install in a windowless case or a full tower. Continue to follow my mod as I promise to deliver one fine looking mod in the end with a few surprises to boot!

About a week ago I was starting to move along at a nice pace with this project. I've been side tracked this past week so I've only had a couple of hours time to spend on it. I was planing to put down a few more coats this weekend but now I'm just concentrating on getting everything wet sanded. It's too cool to paint anyhow. Here are a few pics of the little work I've done the other night.

My case of course. I need to apply some primer as I've sanded through the paint in a few places.

My sub. I still need to sand a bit more as you can see. I will not be adding any more paint except for clear coat. Well I do have the bezel around the speaker. I was going to paint it a different color like silver or red but now I'm thinking black like the rest of the sub.

Here is a pic of my side panel. I sanded some the other night and ran into a problem. The paint had not hardened even though it had been a week since being painted. I probably put down too much is what I'm thinking. So not really wanting to strip it down I put it in the oven for about an hour and a half at 200. I've not sanded on it yet as it's outside cooling down. But wow, it looks really good!

As a side note I now have a XFX GEFORCE 7950 GT 512MB AGP 1.4GHZ on order. I now need some high performance ram, a couple of sata hds and a wide screen LCD. Still shopping.
