XFX 6970 thermal pads problems

Thread Starter
Hi everyone! I'm new here but maybe you can help me with this little problem. I have two 6970 from XFX with stock coolers and this cards runs really hot in full load 80-90 degrees, so I decide to change the thermal paste from de gpu applying Artic Cooling MX-2 in one of my cards, Amazing results,my temps go down like 7-8 degrees, but then I decide to do the same with the other card, but this time changing all the thermal pads...(BIG MISTAKE). blushsmiley.gif I used Koolance pads and the temps goes crazy 110 +++ the pad tickness or something is wrong, now I'm waiting for my new pads Fujipoly (I read that those pads are really soft). So if anyone had this same problem or knows how to resolve it I going to be grateful
Thanks in advance!!thumb.gif

Are you talking about the thermal pads on the memory and vrm? or the gpu? How thick are the pads?
