playing at 1440p vsync off

I noticed the GPU usage drops dramatically with SLI enabled and almost none with only one card.

EXACTLY the same problem here !
This is hilarious and sad at once !
Having 780 SLI and being unable to play smooth game@1440p

hey guys I have been doing a lot of homework on every type of res above 1080p. 4k being the end game of course cause that seems to be what the makers or devs or just the retailers are pedaling out to us as the big thing. let start off by saying this plain and simple, all current gpus from every r9 series to every 700 series is not capable of pushing games at the 4k res with decent frames even in sli or crossfire when the game actualy supports multi gpu use. that's the other issue is the fact that more and more new games are not optimized with multi gpu use. the last article I read was in my maximum pc that just happened to address this 4k res and the truth. i own two evga 780ti's super clocked, two r9 280x's gigabyte type, and two r9 290x's, and come to find out on a single 4k monitor or what they are calling 4k all the gpus as of now to include titan, 7990, and the 690 have realy hard times producing good frames rates at the res.

so to me the fact that the tech world is pedling out 4k as the go to faming monitor or res right now is just a plore to line there pockets early while prices are high. 600 to 5,6,7 grand for a tv or monitor. to in the end not have enough gpu power to run that res properly as of yet. not to mention multiple monitor users like myself. so its not just the game giving you crappy frame rates its the fact that 4k res cant be pushed by todays gpus, and that's researchable fact. sad day for me when two fully unlocked gk110 gpus cant push 4k. that's 1400 bones before even getting a 4k monitor to get barely 40 fps on any game in sli, single gpu barely hits 30's and that's bf4, ghosts, titanfall, and others.
