People with classifieds though...different story

So it's Classified>Lightening?

Lightening just dropped to 540$ at the egg..

Yes. However, did newegg's price go back to before?

If the classified's are back to that price, I'd go for the Galaxy HOF

Yeah I think the Classy is the best 780 this time around. Kills me to say that as a Lightning fanboy! redface.gif

Yeah i thought the classified was like 580$ but i just checked and they're back up to 700$?

I had never heard of the HOF. I'm really close to ordering just a little hesitant because i've heard a 28nm version of maxwell could be on it's way come January which still wouldn't be that big of an issue as two 780s will last me...well an eternity as far as PC gaming is considered. This is for 120hz but i don't have an issue playing at 60hz i prefer when my games run at 120fps though. I would be staying on air then moving to water down the road. Already have a buyer lined up for two of the games if i get a 780 which would the price 60$.

Galaxy is also 540$ and i've got a 470 from them that is still going so i wouldn't mind them either.

Galaxy Hall of Fame

HardOCP Review
not guaranteed, but this is their experience

Now, interestingly, 1.3GHz wasn’t the maximum frequency we obtained, oh no, we got it higher actually. We found that we could overclock it all the way up to 1376MHz, and then it would start artifacting, but it never locked up! That means that we were not at the limitation of the card itself, but rather at the upper limits of the GPU. There was still potential in the card to go higher. This is excellent for LN2 users who want to really crank it up. In fact, the GALAXY GTX 780 HOF Edition has won many LN2 overclock contests as the fastest GTX 780 in the world.
Quote:
We can’t commend the design of the HOF video card enough. The white PCB is just the icing on the cake. It’s a gorgeous peice of equipment. This would be perfect for an all-white or black and white build; something which is very appealing. GALAXY has backed up those good looks with top-of-the-line components meant to extend the lifespan and to handle the overclock. It sports a higher power phase than a standard GTX 780 and can deliver more power to the GPU than a standard GTX 780. The hybrid vapor chamber plus heatpipe cooler works extremely well keeping the GPU 10 degrees cooler than a standard GTX 780. If you enable Hyper Boost it is 20 degrees cooler than a standard GTX 780. This can’t be overlooked, temperature is everything when overclocking with Kepler GPUs and GPU Boost 2.0. The Galaxy GeForce GTX 780 Hall of Fame simply delivers.

The Bottom Line
GALAXY wasn’t kidding when it set about to create the best performing GeForce GTX 780 based video card on the market. We haven’t seen a better GTX 780 than the HOF. Everything the HOF has to offer, from the design, to the cooling, to the overclocking ability, is the best. We achieved the highest overclock we’ve seen on a GTX 780 yet, and it provided a truly significant real world gaming improvement. Not only that, but just out-of-the-box GALAXY did not skimp on the HOF GPU frequency. It will run at 1.1GHz without even touching anything; this is an amazing clock speed for an out-of-the-box GTX 780.

It does cost a small premium over other GTX 780 cards, but it is worth every dollar being asked. If you are in the market for the best GeForce GTX 780 based video card, take a look at the GALAXY GeForce GTX 780 Hall of Fame Edition; you won’t be disappointed.

I'm actually very jealous of that card!

they should just do a double Titan on 1 board for 1,5k and they would have something, pretty sure it will still sell better then a rebrand of an expensive card , you can't justify spending this kind of money again if you already have a 780 for this small if no perf gain ,.... and many people wont upgrade because 780-780ti and titan are so close in perf , but a double titan would smoke these and justify to the entousiast (which are the one buying these high end card in the first place) to spend more money on a real upgrade.

780x2 should be doable.

Bigger dies than the 590 and 9800x2, but the TDP of each GPU is similar to the 580. Even if they were just sightly downclocked, they'd crush any other 2 slot GPU
