You're on a tech forum, and you can't figure out the most likely answer yourself? Psst something something not a 2500k.

It already was a GHz edition with boosting now it just no longer throttles down the boost clock below 1GHz.

Did you even read the article? Its a new chip revision.

If it makes 780's cheaper, I'm for it.
With "increased overclocking capabilities" hopefully Nvidia didn't take out the chip that accepts voltage increase from the Afterburner mods. It would be like sure this revision can go fast we just won't let you do it

Even if the test was done using a 2011 chip, with those listed clock speeds, getting over a 84 fps average is still pretty incredible. In valley, the cpu does not make as significant of an impact as you would think. I call BS on that benchmark score! tongue.gif

Maybe some Titan owners, on some titles even at 3240x1920 I've gone upwards of 3.8-4.5 GBs of vram. Though I wish mine clocked a bit higher then 1.1 GHz biggrin.gif

Though this is really good for us, lot's of cards to choose from on the Green side, and eventually when more 290X models release maybe prices will continue to be more attractive. So long as there are patient people out there and not us early adopters.

I do find it funny they (Nvidia) used GHz edition just like AMD did for the 7970. Could of used something original, but if it wasn't copyrighted I guess fair game.

What kind of incomplete news is that? 780 is already down in price, it assumes it's at 650 still.

Maybe it's just an invented rumor.
