I use Foobar with the ASIO "plugin" sounds fine but I have tried using Bit Matched once and it just errors I will post the error later today.

Example, in foobar2000 you would go to "File" -> "Preferences" -> "Playback" -> "Output" -> "ASIO Virtual Devices" and add your ASIO .dll file (the one supplied with your sound card or use the generic ASIO4ALL). Then you set your Output Device to ASIO and you're set. Setting it for Kernel Streaming is pretty much the same method but with Kernal Streaming files.

For foobar2000 you need to add the ASIO or Kernel Streaming components before you can add your ASIO or Kernel Streaming files. Get it here: http://www.foobar2000.org/components/index.html

I don't use Winamp so I can't give you a guide for that.

The way I understand it is when you play music it goes thru windows kxmixer which then changes your music to windows liking vs it actually coming out as it was recorded. When using the ASIO or Kernal Streaming it bypass' this and plays the music to what it was recorded at without any fancy gimmicks to it.

Thanks for all the useful info. I really appreciate it. I have one more question. I have the Logitech Z-5300 Speakers and have always wondered what the Matrix button is for. It says On/Off. I usually have it Off. What is it for? Something for surround sound I am guessing? Should I leave it off or should I turn it on?
