If you're looking for a "allround" monitor then I personally always recommend IPS monitors. In general they have better colors and good viewing angles. In this case (IPS monitor for gaming) you need to look for a monitor with a reasonable response time and low input lag time (look for reviews to see inputlag times, they will not be mentioned in specifications).
If you mainly/only use the monitor to play a lot of fast paced games (FPS games, race games, ...) and like really fast/responsive monitors (response time: 1-2 ms and low inputlag time) then you also need to consider a TN panels.
some of them are the ones you posted in: http://www.overclock.net/t/1437128/so-many-decisions
if i'm not mistaken. google some reviews of those monitors or similar monitors in the same pricerange, if reviewers are positive about a monitor then it's probably easier to make your decision.Edited by TiezZ BE - 10/30/13 at 2:08pm
