Help choosing

Ok guys, so I'm looking for headphones, specifically some that can be noise-cancelling. I do not want active noise-cancelling, at least not for first option (plus my budget will not allow it I think).

I'll be using them to listen to music...my whole library is almost in FLAC format so I'm looking to enjoy it a bit better than now. I listen to every type of music, so ranges are important (i guess).

These are my options:

Sennheiser HD-280 PRO Headphones
Sony MDR7506 Professional
Sennheiser HD 449
Shure SRH440 Professional Studio
Audio Technica M50

Let me know smile.gif and thanks!

I dig my M50's. Got them for a little under $100 and they work very well for multi genre use. Haven't tried any of the others you've mentioned.
They aren't the best with isolation but they get the job done at moderate volume levels.

I can vouch for the M50's just don't get them for $150 like i've seen a few places selling them for. http://mclego.com/products.php?product=Audio%252dTechnica-ATH%252dM50s-%252d-headphones-%252d-Full-size%2C-Binaural

BTW, the ATH-M50 = Coiled Cable
ATH-M50S = Straight Cable

EDIT: Looking at most sites now i'm starting to notice the price for these headphones definitely went up. Pretty much everyone is selling for $150, that is a bit unfortunate.

Where are you plugging them to? do you have a dedicated soundcard?
If you like Hi rez music you should at least have a decent source to take advantage of the headphones.

I will have a dedicated soundcard, and a sound system. But it will mainly be the computer. Which one do you recommend?
