Whether Mantle gives a 20%+ improvement is to be seen but with the 290X already matching the competition especially if not throtteling it is certain that on average the 290X will be faster than Titan and upcoming 780 TI (if the TI is based on the GK110)
Rumour has that the TI is just a Titan with less vram with a OC on a rather reference PCB so with other words they gain the stock performance crown and then still lose on max OC average.
Some Nvidia benchmark only fans might come in here and say that the Titan wins in Valley benchmark but it is all about winning on average
Rumours also say the 780 Ti has 2880 Cuda cores and that there will be custom PCB versions of the cards. Don't base anything on rumours. Personally i would never buy the reference 290X, but the custom versions will be excellent (I would watercool ofc but that is besides the point).
