help me with the fan wires !

got this 120mm fan from thermaltake that came with my HSF, but there are more cable on it then i'm used to

there is the are 3 sorts of wires:

yellow wire: RPM
Black + Red: power wires
2 small yellow wires: those have to go in the fancontroller that came with it

i want the power wires + the rpm wire to fit into a 3 pin connector so i can fit it in my fancontroller from Scythe. but don't know if it will work without the 2 yellow wires for the fan control speed

does anybody know this ?

They should work fine, the fan speed control wires are just a TT option like the smart fan thermal sensors.

You can cut it off if you don't want it, or rewire the thing for a three pin. I have done both, and they still work fine. Not only do they have more wires on them, but the length is unreal too. I prefer to shorten them to minimize clutter.

ok an quick story about the wires i've been working on

you guys said i you don't need the 2 yellow wires for the fancontroller just make the power wire + the yellow RPM wire into a 3-pin connector and you should be fine....

ok news flash ! you NEED the 2 yellow wires to be connected also or otherwise you're fan won't work. my CPU wen't up 70 degrees luckely i turned of my PC right away or otherwise

the 3-pin connector is now in my Scythe fancontroller and the other 2 yellow wires are the in the controller that came with the HSF. now it just works fine

so with every Silverstone 120mm fan don't cut of the wires !
