Wait, where can I get a 4k 30" monitor for $500? There are 30" TN panels for that much?
I bet you could place an order with virtually any OEM and get some panels for about that price, you'd just have to figure out how to sell off the other 9,998 panels too.
It's actually a tempting thought sometimes, all you have to do is take out a million dollar loan and you can get almost any business to do anything for you, and you could make a lot of money if you know your customers (which probably describes your average high risk start up business). It's marketing and distribution that cause problems. I know I want a cheap 4K monitor, you know you want a cheap 4K monitor, but we literally need thousands of other people to want exactly the same thing, and somehow communicate that to the people making them.
I have to wonder if there's anything against OEMs taking money from Kickstarter?
