Laptop LCD backlight is out

My ASUS Vivobook X202's screen is not cooperating with me. I originally thought that the screen was out entirely, but upon closer inspection with a flashlight, the screen is actually working. It's just the backlight that won't come on.

This has happened several times before, but it's always fixed itself within a day or two. This time it doesn't look like it's going to go away.

I tried opening it up and checking all the connections; I'm no expert on laptops but everything looked secure.

External displays work as expected.

If anyone could help me out with this, I'd appreciate it. If I need to replace it myself, it'd be cool if someone could guide me through the process - RMAing isn't really an option.

This has the guide, if it isn't the touchscreen model. I.E. the X202E, this is the screen you want.

If it is the touchscreen model, this is the only screen I could find with touchscreen after a google search.

The screen still works, including the touch. I'd like to avoid replacing the whole thing if possible.

The problem with newer screens like this is that they are manufactured together or are too risky to take apart to replace one component. I understand where you are coming from, because I've had a phone, laptops, tablets, etc that I've had to replace screens on because of the backlight going out. All for friends and family though, if I had that bad of luck with screens, I'd stick to just using a CRT. Dang things are unbreakable. XD
