I had the Watch Dogs Bundle but that game is delayed so it looks like I will have to go with BF4 :)

Im quite aware of how PlayStation Plus works. Yes you get good games for free.. but the fact still remains that you must spend Extra money For the privilege to play online.... That's not cool frown.gif

Why would any developer make recording or streaming a section of their game "off limits". To make certain scenes only recordable if people have bought the game? Why?

Not playing MP3s is a strange decision and I'd not be surprised to see an something on the PSN for sale that will allow you to do it in the near future...but really...how many people power up their PS3 to play music? Or can it play music while you play a game?

I think the point of the first one is they gave the developers the option just to save face. Maybe developers are afraid of people recording their cut scenes? Not like this would prevent you from using a pvr or recording card tho so who knows.

I agree with the mp3 part. I'm sure that will be added via an app at some point.

Playstation 4 - It only does some of the stuff the PS3 does.

The other Japanese manufacturer, Nintendo, also dropped support of MP3 on the Wii many years ago, and the U follows that lead.

Why? Well, because it's a proprietary standard that's going downhill, that has been superseeded by OGG, and they were asked multimillionaire sums if they wanted to include playback support.

Solution? Give them the finger.

Myself personally have gotten rid of the majority of MP3 I had. Re-ripped the original media in FLAC+OGG. FLAC for my daily listening needs, OGG for my mobile phone.

Shuhei Yoshida ‏@yosp 31. okt

Had a very good discussion w the PS4 Dev team today. We're happy & appreciative to learn so many people use and like PS3's media features.

SOURCE

Seems like they might reconsider their decision in a future firmware update. Fingers crossed.

This news saddens me very much. I'm an admitted Sony fanboy, and have had my PS4 pre-ordered since E3. But one of the main driving features I was looking forward to was DLNA media streaming from my PC.

While I'm not reconsidering buying an XBONE or anything drastic like that, I'm actually kinda considering cancelling my pre-order. I'd say that the media streaming makes up about 75% of what I was using my PS3 for, so really I guess it's just time to upgrade the old HTPC.

I'm so heart broken right now.
