You'd probably find the LightBoost thread rather informative on this topic.

To put it in short, you traded some functionality by going from a CRT to your new IPS. I personally disliked the latency, tearing, low refresh rate and blurring of lcd's so I went straight from my CRT to the Asus monitor listed in that thread biggrin.gif

Motion blur is... well... pretty self explanitory. When you move your character (fast) in a game, due to the speed, the world becomes blurred around him. Like when you see a car driving fast on TV for example. Here's a comparison video of no motion blur vs motion blur.

For LCD's that have the motion clarity of a CRT, you must stick to LCD's that contain motion-blur-reducing strobe backlight.

Cheapest gaming LCD with strobe backlight:
The ASUS VG248QE (less than $300)

Best-color-quality gaming LCD monitor with strobe backlight
The Eizo Foris FG2421 (about $555 on Amazon). It is the first modern 120Hz VA monitor, with the Turbo240 (240Hz with black frame insertion) strobe backlight mode. Great colors and contrast, with CRT-quality motion. Morkai gave some really glowing reviews of that monitor.

I have a good sun system crt 17" probably able to overclock the res and refresh rate but it still a crt take a lot of juice and it small and hot..

( my acer is not bad at all it juste me that realised what is the blur that everyone complain about..

( It doest make my playing bad or anything i need seriously to look at it to see it.. ( stop in a wide map spot ( Mmo) and put my mouse to 3600dpi and move fast while running so to look bad i need to look retarded wheee.gif
