hmm i believe M3 could be too big , it might be M2.5 or something like that , you should find that on google somewhere i think, but if you are in uk , dunno how easy it is to find metric thread tools around.
However at this price i m dubious that you will get usefull tools . if you have a hardware store near you , you will find what you need for about 10 pound and the quality will certainly be better.

look like it is depending on your standoff , they are not all the same size , here they say 6-32

here they say M3 could work instead of 6-32

i can go to my local hardware store, but i dont know what to ask them for? a 2.5mm drill,1x 3mm tap and tap driver?

they are pretty useless there (ever more than me)

i would go for 2,7mm drill bit and 3mm (M3) tap that is the normal way to do it . 2,5 mm hole for a M3 tap is a bit tight , you run risk of breaking the tap inside.

drill your hole , try to clean the edges of it and make a bezel about the size of the thread ( if you dont have a conical bit or tool to do the bezel , it will still work but it might be difficult to screw the first times). then use a bit of lubrication on the tap and go for it , try to stay straight as possible. go all the way to the flat part of the tap , the first bit of it don't make a full thread. every one or two turn , go back 1/4 of a turn the other way to break the waste, it help not to get stuck and break the tap.

if you can find some set of tap with 3 tap to use one after the other , just look which one is the least engraved and use them in order . these can be good because you have less resistance and chance to break the tap.

it's pretty easy do , on a fine plate of metal it s a piece of cake , no chance to break or be stuck but i m just explaining the proper way to do it .

measure twice , drill once,.... that is the most important thing tongue.gif

just a thing , if you have a spare metal piece around , do a trial run to be sure the mb stand-off fit before going for the haf-x mobo tray
