So, CPU is running stable for 20 minutes before over-heating a little much

So I am currently running a 4770k at 4.2 Ghz using a zalman lq-310 closed loop cooler.

Unfortunately, after sitting stable at about 70* (although core 2 reaches about 77*) running prime95 temperatures shot up to 99* (which I assume is the max reading) and giving me a log in realtemp on core 1.

I have also bsod a couple times after playing games and forgetting to turn cpu fan to full spin. I am upgrading to a push/ pull config on the radiator in the next few days, I just forgot the hardware for doing so in my workshop. I hope that after dropping to maybe a 4.0 Ghz clock and running 2 fans I am able to run prime95 for extended periods of time with no overheating.

Maybe try lapping the sink. Or in the first place re-seat the thermal conductor.

I recently lapped my TRUE and seen temps drop 9* across all the cores.

I am going to try new thermal compound when I replace the fan with 2 fans on the radiator, according to zalman, the "fins" on their heatsink are a design feature.

However, the above attempts do not remedy the situation, I will attempt to lap the heatsink.
