WD Black or WD Caviar Black? Is there a difference?

Thread Starter
Hi,

I would like to know if there is a difference between WD Caviar Black and WD Black - or are they one in the same? I see these HDDs on Newegg and other sites that sell computer hardware, some say WD Caviar Black and others say WD Black. Are these two different WD Black HDDs?

Thanks,

Mike

Ignore the naming convention.

Compare warranty and model number and that will tell you everything you need to know when comparing online.

NP. The Black Edition is the only WD consumer level drive that has the 5-year warranty (to my knowledge).
