ACX SLI - Temps for a 780 in the bottom pcie slot?

Thread Starter
Hi all, quick question on behalf of a friend of mine.

He has a similar mobo to myself (a Gigabyte Sniper M5) which typically involves putting GPU's in the 1st and 4th PCIE slots. If using that 4th PCIE slot, a 2 slot graphics card ends up sitting flush against the top of a PSU.

Will a EVGA GTX 780 with the ACX cooler suffer due to the restricted airflow caused by the PSU directly below it? Furthermore, considering the spacing between both the cards, will the card in the 1st pcie slot still suffer due to heat from the card in the 4th slot below it?

Thanks

(sorry for poor sentence structure / typos, extremely tired as I post this haha)

A bit but not much. I have the ACX and it doesn't seem to blow hot air upwards that much. I've only seen a increase of around 3c-5c

Heya mate thanks for the reply,
Are you referring to the first half of my question, or the second half? Hehe

Also always looking to hear more and more opinions (my mate doesn't have an awful lot of funds, so he wants to make sure he's being smart with his cash)

Thanks!

Depends exactly on how close that PSU is to the bottom card. If you're not sure then why not just sit a fan on top of the psu blowing air onto both cards?

It'll be too close to the psu to sandwich a fan in between I'm afraid tongue.gif

If only there was such a thing as high capacity 'low profile' atx psu's haha
