Wanting to push my GTX 570. Always had problems..

So yeah like the title say. I'm wanting to push my Zotac 570 a bit... I recently got a 1920x1200 monitor and getting 30 fps on Arma 3 isn't cutting it (Yeah I know, if I'm wanting higher speeds on A3 I should start to look at a new card - and I am, but no funds as of yet)

I have gotten the card OC'd a ways before, have tried many times, including using furmark or similar to stress test, but then during a game a day or two later I start to get artifacting and crashes.
I do step up slowly (25mhz increments) and then usually if I crash I hop back down 50mhz and leave it there (not always exactly but kinda like this) and test for a good hour with no problems.
I MIGHT be willing to drop $50 on an H20 620 or similar and mod it on to the card if you think I will be able to get good boosts out of it, but not wanting to drop the money on it if you think it wont be even worth it.
What am I doing wrong with my OCs?

ARMA runs terrible for everyone, so don't expect any miracles there. It's terribly optimized and even high end rigs get bad performance in multiplayer.

Some cards just don't like to OC. If it is artifacting you have to run it at either stock, or a lower OC.
I would rather save the $50 and save up for a better card in the future.
