-in Chrome, if you click a video on the related videos, the user in the URL may not change

I don;t think that's actually youtube there. the thing reads youtu.be, not youtube.com. Smells like malware.

The way i do it is use firefox with ghostery and noscript. That way you can enable disable and automatically block/allow things from specific places.
