IIRC the console APUs are 8 cores so they're certainly not stock. After all, most of the cost of any console is the CPU/GPU, or in the case of the next-gen consoles, the APU. Which is why they cost on average $300-400 at launch if not more. As far as Kaveri desktop and mobile APUs, it would probably have driven the overall cost and thermal specs of them too high and too hot to use GDDR5, but it would have been very nice to see it... it would make Dual Graphics Mode integration with 7800+ series Radeons possible. The Carrizo generation, which is what is currently rumored to be the premiere of the 20nm architecture sometime in Q4 2014 or H1 2015 will quite likely allow for using a 7800 series or even possibly 7950.
From all the specs and possible benches that have been released/leaked thus far it seems like Kaveri's iGPU will be on par with a 7750-7790... which is still pretty good for an APU...
