To buy manufacturers refurbished? Or not ?

Hi guys, this one board (Asus Maximus IV Gene-Zhttp://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Maximus-IV-Gene-Z-Motherboards/dp/B005584ZHQ caught my eye and it says its manufacturers refurbished; it looks like an overall good ASUS board based on reviews on HardOCP and Guru3D.

My only concern is that the warranty is probably none, or only 30 days... So what are some problems anyone could run into when buying "manufacturers refurbished" motherboards ?

I mean, this is from what i understand:

If the board isnt DOA, then what possibly could go wrong on the motherboard? If warranty is up is there ABSOLUTELY NO WAY possible to even contact ASUS or something and see if they can repair the board if i pay them? I know warranty covers the payments of repairs; but have you ever heard of paying a manufacturer to fix your motherboard if its past warranty period ?

I wouldnt want to buy a board that might die out on me and then be completely screwed with something that will just turn into "paperweight".

Can you guys chime in on something i might me missing on? I just dont have much confidence buying refurbished items but if its "manufacturers refurbished" everything should be working 100% fine though right ? Plus the board is a ROG board, doesnt that mean the components are at least a little better? Lesser chance of component malfunction?

Anyone want to chime in? Id really appreciate it.

Its a manufacturer's refurbished ROG board, does that make it any better than other manufacturer's refurbished boards? Or no?

I've personally had good luck with manufacturer refurbished electronics, my router for eg was manu refurb. and it's still going strong 2.5 yrs, I base my decisions tho on the reputation of the manufacturer and also what item. Me personally I wouldn't use a manu. refurb. mobo in my daily rig but hey if you're getting a great deal compared to a new one and you trust the manufacturer then I don't see why not.
