900d, need more airflow.

Thread Starter
I just put this rig together, I needed a case that had dual PSU support, and more room.

CA_10271321045517-L.jpg

OK all, I need to get some more air movement in this case. I fold, so my temps are a concern.

above my aio rad, and in the front of my case I have stock fans.

in the back I have a Silverstone Tek 140mm x 38mm Fan for CPU Cooler and Computer Cases Cooling FHP-141 http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Tek-Computer-Cooling-FHP-141/dp/B00A460TK6

under my aio rad, I have 4x Black COUGAR CF-V14HB Vortex HDB Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing 140MM Silent Cooling Fan, 300000 Hours, with 3 to 4 pin Adapter fans http://www.amazon.com/COUGAR-CF-V14HB-Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing-Cooling-Adapter/dp/B00918I8M4/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1383353044&sr=1-2&keywords=cougar+140mm+fans

Should I match above my aio rad, and intake with cougar's? or cougar's on top and something with more airflow in the front?

Thanks

Now... I would consider water cooling my cards, but I have no idea where I would get blocks..

Hmm valid point, not when folding, but when gaming. I need to me able to hear the game, lol. Therefore , I would either want to use motherboard fan profiles, or I would consider a fan controller or two.. Depending on prices etc.

Just looking on cooling configurator it looks like there are no full cover blocks made for your card by ek so unless you are willing to get universal blocks on each of your cards and then use heatsinks to cool the vrm you will not be able to water cool them.

That's fine , I'm fine with air while they are in warranty and the fans are working, I'll be forced into action if this changes.

I'd move the rad further toward the back of the case (removing your ducting/shrouds if necessary), this way you have some significant air flow over the board's VRM heatsink.

Watercooling those cards seems like a must, even if you have to use GPU only blocks.

The thing is, this case is designed to be watercooled. All corsair cases are (except the air 540/C70). There isn't really all that much you can do with this case (other than modding the side panel to mount fans to blow directly onto the GPU.

Right, I'll bite.

Help me build a budget water cool setup. Let's exclude the CPU for cost reasons for now, I assume I can put a larger rad or 2nd rad in for it later, with a separate loop.

Let's stick to universal water blocks with ram vrm heatsinks. Since budget is a concern, can I do one or two cards at a time ?

any custom loop is going to be decently expensive. thats just the way it is.

you are also in trouble in terms of block selection, the classified is a custom PCB so standard 680 blocks *(i am fairly certain) will not fit and you will need to buy the 680 classified waterblock from evga.
