Antec power supplies information thread

This time i want to talk about Antec

So first off some info
Antec info (Click to show)
Antec, Inc. was founded in 1986, and nowadays is recognized as a provider of efficient, quiet, and reliable products, which include front line power supplies, a wide range of cases, media components and a line of computer accessories comprising many original products, including its patented LED fans, notebook cooling solutions and cpu coolers.

Antec is headquartered in Fremont, California, with additional offices in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, as well as in Germany, China and Taiwan.

First off is the Antec Earth Watts series i will only be talking about the platinum rated models as the older models have been discontinued

The Antec Earth Watt (platinum only) series is a non modular 80 plus platinum rated series made by FSP

Wattage is 450 / 550 / 650 and there is a 750 watts on the way as well

reviews (Click to show) my thoughts (Click to show)
Now what i have to say about this is its overpriced voltage regulation is a bit lose and there are a few too many CapXon capacitors

Its not really worth buying unless its on sale for a lower price then normal

Next is the High Current Gamer (non modular)

Now the 400/520/620 watts models have been discontinued so i will only say they are Seasonic S12II based and thats it for them

The 750 and 900 watts models are non modular 80 plus bronze rated models made by Delta Electronics

reviews (Click to show) my thoughts (Click to show)
Now the only really bad thing i have to say about this series is price its a little too high and its non modular

But i have not really have anything to complain about in terms of build quality and ripple/voltage regulation

Next is the High Current Gamer M series

This is a semi modular 80 plus bronze rated series based on the Seasonic M12II

Wattage is 400 / 520 / 620 / 750 and 850 watts
photos (Click to show)

reviews (Click to show)
Next is the True Power Classic series which is a Seasonic S12G based series which means its a non modular 80 plus gold rated series
Wattage is 450 / 550 / 650 and 750
reviews (Click to show) photo (Click to show)

Next is the True Power Gold

This is a semi modular 80 plus gold rated series made by Delta Electronics

Wattage for now is 550 and 650 watts with 750 / 850 and 1000 watts on the way
photos (Click to show)

No reviews yet

Next is the High Current Pro

This is a semi modular 80 plus god rated series made by Delta Electronics

Wattage is 750 / 850 and 1200 watts

videos (Click to show)
reviews (Click to show) my thoughts (Click to show)
What i think of this series well ripple is pretty good below 40mv on all models

Voltage regulation should have been better in a series of this class and price range

Nothing to complain about with build quality in this area its very good

Overall its overpriced the fan is a bit loud on high speeds so no its not really worth buying unless its on sale

Next is the High Current Pro Platinum (which has very little to do with the old High Current Pro)

This is a fully modular 80 plus platinum rated series made by Delta Electronics

Wattage is 750 / 850 / 1000 and 1300 watts

Before i begin i will say that the 1000 watts came out about a year and a half before the 850 watts

This means they dont have everything in common so i will talk about each of the two on their own

One thing to note about this series is they are all multi 12v rail PSU´s

So lets start with 1000 watts
photos (Click to show)

video (Click to show)
reviews (Click to show) my thoughts (Click to show)
First lets talk about voltage regulation

3.3V: 2.1%
5V: 1.4%
12V1: 0.6%
12V2: 0.7%
12V3: 1.5%
12V4: 1.4%

Ripple peaks at 35mv on one of the 12v rails which is overall pretty good in that area

Overall this is a very good 1000 watts PSU but its not as good as say the Seasonic Platinum or the Super Flower Leadex / EVGA Super Nova G2/P2

Its also overpriced so not really worth buying unless you can find sold at the same price as the Seasonic Platinum or lower

Next is the 850 watts version which is an improved version of the 1000 watts

OEM is still Delta

photo (Click to show)
videos (Click to show)
reviews (Click to show) my thoughts (Click to show)
Now this something i have never seen before during jonnyguru´s testing the 3,3v rail moved 0.0% which is unheard of

5,5v rail moved 0.2%

12v rail peaked at 0.7%

I belive this is THE best voltage regulation i have ever seen on a consumer grade PSU

Ripple is also very good at around 25mv peak not as good as the Super Flower Leadex platform but we are talking 10mv here

Overall i would claim the 850 watts is the best 850 watts PSU i have ever seen

At least in terms of voltage regulation

Performance and build quality is outstanding

Now comes the bad part

Price for the 850 watts at the time of writing is 220$ and that is 40$ off normal price
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371065&Tpk=Antec%20850

If you want the best you have to pay for it

High Current Pro Platinum 1300

reviews (Click to show)
Next is the High Current Pro Platinum Grid which is a fully modular 80 plus platinum rated series

No info on OEM or any reviews yet

Wattage is 850 and 1200 watts
photo (Click to show)

Last one is the Edge series this is a fully modular gold rated series made by Seasonic
The 550 / 650 and 750 watts are a fully modular version of the Seasonic G.
The 850 and 1050 watts on the other hand are Seasonic KM3 based units

Thanks Shilka! thumb.gif

the HCP-850 Platinum series have a quad rail 12V1-->12V4
http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=706568&fid=343

Also, don't include the True Power Quattro because they are already discontinued

Thanks

Yes i did suspect it was discontinued its not really new anymore

I do have a few questions

Is the new Antec True Power Classic based on the new Seasonic S12G series and is there any date for when it goes on sale?

Last anything about the Antec High Current Pro Platinum Grid?

Thank you for your time

The TPQ are by Enhance Electronics

http://www.enhanceusa.com/

Then I believe when we discontinued the model, Seasonic took over the design. Sorry we don't have the date.

The Platinum Grid is still being tested and hopefully it will be released soon. The HCP Gold series is already being discontinued because of this switch to Grid series.

Thanks

Realhardtechx does not say anything about OEM on the Platinum Grid anything you can tell me?

Also will the lower High Current Pro Platinum models be multi rail or single rail?

Will edit the new info info in later today

Again thanks
