MJ2 and MJ5 should run stable though you need to flash a new bootloader. I've tried MI6 ROMs but they are completely unstable, this is on the Note 2 though.

Sony has been promising 4.3 on my Xperia Z tablet for 5 months now...

All the new no-name chinese devices are releasing with 4.1 or 4.2, that explains their high market share.
For most people on stock ROMs, the version doesn't matter. They can use Facebook/Twitter/Email/Web browsing on any version. Those that actually care about the latest and greatest have long switched to custom ROMs. Sony might be an exception though due to the DRM partition that gets wiped...

Sony say they make it easier to install a custom ROM by allowing people to unlock their bootloader, but seriously, the entire process only makes installing one extremely tedious and prone to failure. Also, I like the Sony Stock ROM. I just wish they were faster when it comes to updating. My dads tablet (Asus) has had 2 updates in a time span of 4 months. I had zero :/

No need for the BL on the i9300, yet, on this leak.
