Trouble installing video card, please help

Hello

I am having a bit of an issue and would appreciate any ideas anyone has.

The issue is this: The computer Im working on has an ati X200 integrated card on it and I am putting in an Nvidia 7600 OCed (from factory) PCI-E card in the computer. When I put the video card in the computer it wont send a video signal to the monitor on either video output (the port on the video card or the post further up the back of the case not on the video card). In other words the monitor wont display anything at all from any port on the back of the computer when the vid card is physically inserted.

When I take the card out the port further up the back of the case works again and I can try fiddling with BIOS etc.

Ive tried these things:

Primary display adapter as PCI-E w/ X200 disabled

Primary display adapter as PCI w/ X200 disabled

Primary display adapter as PCI-E wX200 uninstalled

Primary display adapter as PCI w/ X200 uninstalled

Primary display adapter as PCI-E w/ X200 installed and enabled

Primary display adapter as PCI w/ X200 installed and enabled

in none of these configurations do either video output ports on the back on the computer work with the vid card physically inserted into the PCI-E slot. The reason I was trying the PCI as primary adapter was just because thats the way it was when i loaded it up first and figured might as well try it.

The video card seems to be working as the fan on it spins.

What other options could I possibly look at for this?

Have you connected power to the 7600 if it needs it?

The guy is asking if you connect the molex to the video card ?

A 4pin molex from PSU must be connected to the card, ?

there is no 4 pin connector on this card.

it connects into the PCI-E slot and that is all. as for any 4 pin connectors I checked for any area that would require that to be connected and i found none.

are there any other possibilities here?

is the card malfunctioning? why is it disabling the other video output port from the mobo?

you need to do 2 things. first connect your powercable on your graphic card, usely the connector is at the end of the card. 2nd you need to go in your bios disable your on board video and tell it to use your agp or pci-e card instead.

Okay I looked at a pic of a 7600, and it looks like you won't need any seperate power.

The easiest thing to do is to try the 7600 in another computer and see if it works, and/or try a GPU you know works in that machine. This could tell you if your GPU or perhaps motherboard is defective. (i've had one with a failed AGP slot before, I'm sure PCI-E ones do it too altough I don't think thats very common)

Most cards don't need it before hand, but maybe you need to install the drivers first?
