Demoed recently at the Human Sensing 2013 conference in Yokohama, Japan, the system includes a headband equipped to hold an iPhone next to the wearer’s temple. The phone is fitted with a special prism so the camera can record footage from the wearer’s point of view.
Quote:
The headset also includes EEG sensors that scan the brain for correlative spikes in interest. The Neurocam iPhone app assigns the EEG data a value from one to 100. When the data hits 60, interest is detected, which cues the phone’s camera to start recording. Footage is recorded as five-second GIFs, which are then stored in an album so users can remember what exactly struck their interest.

Cool.

This is just more proof that the brain and mind are the same thing. Interest levels correspond to particular eeg patterns and can easily be quantified.

This is more evidence for the materialism case, which is gaining more and more evidence like this all the time.

I think that this could also be incredibly useful for marketing and sociology research purposes. Survey companies could pay people to wear these, then record when they see an advertisement that interests them particularly. Then they can use that information to generate more effective adds. I see a ton of business potential for something like this.

Think they might be a step ahead of you on this one.

Ugh, please, no more creepy Minority Report-esque stuff. We're frighteningly close enough as it is.
