I am puzzled as to why only a few R9 290X cards on newegg say CrossFireX support? Shouldn't all R9 290X support crossfire?

Do you always take marketing verbatim?

No. I just find it odd that's all.

The cards are connected through the PCI-E slots. ALL r9-290/290x cards are crossfirex cards. none of them use a crossfire bridge.

CrossFireX is a brand name... nothing more.

neweggs editors are just lazy thats why some say they have crossfire and some don't. like azanimefan said, 290x and 290 have crossfire over pci and no bridge is needed.
