Sadly it was 800€+.
I own one, it's display is pretty good but very low resolution (and if you leave it as is it takes a 1080p input and downscales it to 720p) and it doesn't feel big. It's a small display but the quality is very good.
It's downside is it is TERRIBLY uncomfortable. The nosepads are very thin and grip on your nose where a lot of pressure is. The headband is also badly designed and my hair gets caught in it a lot (unlike headphones which don't at all). It isn't balanced, it's huge and the majority of the weight is forward.
It's decently comfortable on a PS3 (console environment) where you can leanback with a controller (as it takes the pressure of your nose) but for PC gaming it was bad.
I'm certain the Oculus rift has a much worse display but it is most likely a lot more comfortable.
The upside for the price if you are 100% sure you want that product is you could game on it with a 660/7770 on EVERY SINGLE GAME and get playable frame rates on ultra with 60fps 720p native input. The 3d effect is also pretty bad with my old 7970/6970's and it wasn't perfect with 3d vision either. It seemed to lack a LARGE difference in depth.
Edit: There is also a lot of pressure on your eyes with it.
I remember trying it in the store and being blown away by the display quality and ps3 immersion of it for a few minutes, but then using it for 30 minutes got irritating.
I noticed no eye fatigue though, even in 3d, with it but there wasn't too much depth.
So take that 800euros as a downgrade from your 650 gpu to your 300 one and your 550 cpu to your 250 unlocked i5 and you've BROKEN EVEN! (Assuming you count it as a new monitor)
(Not to mention motherboard cost reductions across platforms).
Not going to lie it's pretty awesome on a ps3 compared to a tv (even a decent one) and the setup is more comfortable. But the PC gaming posture on a desk with a keyboard and mouse is really uncomfortable with it.
Also on the topic of consoles, my PS3 felt alot smoother upscaling to 1280x720 compared to 1080p.
Edit 2: You've made me want to dig it out of my drawer and try it with the ps4. Do you happen to know if they sell replacement rubber pads, I've disassembled mine and lost most of the padding and the one I have is dusty.Edited by JassimH - 11/21/13 at 9:02am
