Should I consider a 270x? And maybe crossfire later on? I'm reading a review on hardwarecanucks and their benchmarks show that I can get between 30-60FPS on highest settings. This seams to be the best value for 1080p. I'm just not sure how this card faces up to games in the next year or two.

Considering the 270x is just a 7870, I'd say the 270x is a poor value. The 7850 is at least as strong as two of your 560's. The FPS and settings you desire will be fine with a single 7850 providing you're not running heavy AA.

I have no experience with BF4 but, on BF3 using a 7850 and a stock i5 Sandy/ivy, you get 60 fps minimum 99.9% of the time on all HIGH settings minus MSAA @ 1080p

Running Xfire 7850's (I've done this too) I was able max anything. 3dmark 11 score in 12k

Hi Jesb,

I bought a PowerColor 7950 for $200 from NewEgg last month.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131499

They are currently out of stock but I had no problems with the rebate. I bought an Asus 2020 for my wife from TigerDirect and it had a $50 rebate from 4myrebate.com and I never got so much as an email from them so it is important to me anyway, that I got my rebate without issue.

The price is about $20 more than I paid but even so it is still $210 with rebate. Check around I am sure there are more 7950 deals out there.
Good luck and have a great day.

The 7950 deal is over. That was before the R series launch. Now the 7950 is priced right based on their current line-up. It's a shame, but the 7950 @ $200 won't be back for a while IMO.

Unless you come across a weak model. I snagged the TF3 model during the few weeks they were priced low for $197 shipped with 4 games. That day is gone.

You should also look at cards that are bundled with games right now. If you find a card that is bundled with a game you are planning to get anyway then that would factor into the value.

Would this 770 outperform most 280x cards at the same price of $329?

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?affiliateid=7474144&sku=84680&vpn=ZT-70301-10P&manufacture=Zotac&promoid=1089

Sticking to nvidia might be better since I would like to have all 3 of those free games.

Just looking at a quick benchmark of BF4 at 1920x1200 on High the 280x is at 75 fps while the 770 is at 67. This margin decreases when bumped up to ultra and its good to keep in mind this game is supposed to be more catered to AMD. Both of those rates are very playable so the 3 free games makes it seem like a pretty good deal to me. Benchmark

But if you look at Batman Origins , which is catered to Nvidia, the 770 comes out waayyy on top compared to the 280x even with physx off. Benchmark
