Figure 60mV for each 100MHz (eg, 10mV per core). so if 44x is 1.312V loaded, 45x will be 1.37ish.. If this is true and you can RMA that chip, you may get a better one. Seems like that one is "bottom of the class".

In this first go, you should adjust only vcore, LLC and memory colts/timings. leave all other voltages on auto.

Exactly what ram sticks are you using?

edit: oh yeah, LLC effectively diminishes vdroop so, yes, increasing LLC will increase load vcore. You should set LLC to high for 45x or higher. Medium will work, but will require higher vcore to be set in bios.

I went ahead and double checked in the BIOS it reads : CPU VCORE Offset Voltage: +0.005 (min 0.005 , max 0.635) Increment: 0.005 by pressing + or -
VCCSA is set to +0.005
DRAM set to 1.500 (Using Corsair Vengeance 4x4GB CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9)
Additional Turbo set to 0.020 (use + or - for increments of .004)

EDIT yes it seems my decimal point was off

Well I gave up for now as now it won't even run 4.7 anymore, not even at my normal settings. Try it later when it's cooled down for a while.

Time to read up on that little wcing unit.

But 1st, time to try the bios flash.

If you flash the Bios to the new one, then you will lose all your Overclock settings!! And you will have to start all over again so just bear that in mind FF!!

AJ.

no need to set vccsa at this point. set to manual or Offfset and AUTO. Try leaving offset vcore at 5mV (=0.005V) and adjust Turbo only. And set CPU PLL Overvoltage to 'Enabled'

Thanks Ajay, but I meant kpe flash. Gotta explain myself better, sorry.

I've already flashed the mobo to the latest beta.

Downloaded EZ3Flash and now I'm lost. Tried a few different things but got nowhere.

Sent a pm for some help, as I am really lost. Most of the stuff you guys are referring to is all new to me. Vccsa PLL,... I've read the info on each

setting and have PLL ov enabled whenever I try ocing. Can't get anywhere with cpu strap yet. Set LLC from Med to ultra high with no help in ocing

results. Still can't run 4.7 with any lower voltage than 1.39-1.4 Perhaps I should try rmaing this chip. It ran @ 1.465-1.47 b4 so it can handle some

abuse, but I stopped running higher voltages as soon as I got help from people on here and found out how over 1.4 is bad for these chips.

I ran an offset @ .090 with turbo @ both 116 and 080. I believe .080 worked while 116 crashed.

Can someone post a few pics of bios settings to dbl check what I might consider adjusting?

Sorry folks but I'm really lost!!! Thought I knew and understood a bit more than I do I guess....redface.gif

here's a bunch of screenies 46x103.1 via offset OC. very stable... but use for guidance only! don't bclk overclock until you get something stable at 100 or 125.

I went ahead and purchased an additional chip. I 'm going to install it and compare the differences between the two chips. If I get the same results, is it fair to say my method is tainted? Haha. I really appreciate all the help in here. Sounds like we've determined that 4.4 is this chips sweet spot, eh? In all actuality how big a difference can I get from 4.4/4.5 to say 4.7 or 4.8?

I'm saying you are using WAAAY too high voltage for the frequency you are running. Did you read and follow the instructions I posted in that link? I suggest that if you get a new chip, do not immediately electrocute it. GO SLOW with increses in vcore. And, yes Ivy bridge_E will be unstable with too high voltage. (are you getting 124 bsods?)

Please stop with wrong informations that 1.4V will kill cpu, i ran 1.49V for two weeks and nothing happened, also after two these weeks my cpu needs lower voltage for 4.5Ghz.

Now i am back at 4.5GHz 1.39V, pretty bad sample, but it will be enough until haswell-e comes.
