Hey bud,
Yeah I do think that 4930K blew with 1.25VTT, 1.2V vsa 1.47 vcore at 125 strap ohno-smiley.gif. but 4.875 and 4.9 was nice! This chip will do R15 at 4.8/1,376V cpuZ (=1.383V or so by DMM), but that vcore can't hold for some video compression codecs whereas 1.392 does no problem. VTT is only 1.05-.06V with 2133C8 memory, VSA is 1.13V

4.75/2203c8 with 103.3 bclk is 1.36V with p95 load and is very stable, exact same voltage for a fixed OC at 4.75/2333c9 with 125 strap (vsa 1.13, vtt 1.05, bios st at 1.35 LLC extreme). The I had 1.376 in the original bios, now it needs 1.392 on 602 bios, but the temps and watts are no different... blinksmiley.gif

But what really caught my eye was "JPM's Chiller," thinking i would get one of those to put in line + 780TI Blocks together i think it would be golden!! wink.gif

As for the Back Plate here, just a Off cut from the local timber yard, which i made into what you can see. thumb.gif

anyone using offset volts for their 24/7 oc?
I'm down to +0.015 @ Regular LLC = 1.25v so far for 4.5Ghz on my 4960x - think it'll go lower!

Always seems to start @ 1.28v then under load vdroop kicks in and drops down to what I'm expecting using offset+llc combo - that right?

That looks about right to me here, you could Possibly squeeze a bit more!!

But as i said before, as i am old school i just use Fixed Manual Vcore here zoome my friend.

I am down to 1.200v @ High LLC = 1.215V @ Full Load @ 4.4Ghz!

That's the best i can do so far!

Nice read JPM saved that for a rainy Day, so hows things in Philly is it warming up yet??

Cheers,

AJ.

basically, I only use offset+additional turbo. POsted this some where...

I run 1.1vtt and 1.115vccsa for whatever dimms I use now @ or under 2133...No need to push lower I just find my chip gets a lil' unstable very occasionally!

Funny you should reckon 1.25 VTT killed your last chip - Corsairs XMP profile, and also ASUS Auto will set as much as 1.3vtt lol biggrin.gif

This 4960x is hopefully guna last me a while now so trying to squeeze a sensible yet respectable OC for long term use (hence offset use aswell)

down to +0.005 now with Regular LLC - Thats the lowest I can go lol! - 1.24v for 4.5 is pretty awesome compared to the 1.36v that was required before!
Anything higher also needs PPL Overvoltage enabling and as I prefer not to change much in the BIOS I think this is where I'm going to settle for 24/7.

Now to push for highest bench stable lol smile.gif

I know, gskill "recommends" 1.2 vsa! Smart move to keep VTT as low as possible... IMO. I have been avoiding running this ram at 2666 for that reason. I need to set vsa @ 1.17-1.18 min, and VTT @ 1.2 (at least) for benchmark stability (at 4.75 or 4.875 GHz). Even so, this chip seems to have "matured" now. 4.8GHz is stable at ossilating1.376/1.392 by CPUZ, which is 1.384-6 by DMM. Although it was an earlier bios, 4.8 was previously 1.376 cpuZ, 1.38 by DMM.

With my kit, at 2333 or lower ram speeds, 1.05 VTT is working fine. VSA is kept within 300mV of vcore. (eg, 1.13 for 1.4V vcore).

right now this rig is set at 4.625 (125 strap) @ 1.296V fixed, VTT@ 1.05, VSA@ 0.995, ram @ 2333 c9 cause we're encoding a bunch of old/classic B/W movies (charlie chan, sherlock holmes.. etc smile.gif ) and is doing so in the background.

Thats a nice 4960x you got there. A stable 4.5 @ 1.24v is awesome! Finding highest bench stable OC will be a challenge without some bios tweaking. Fill out your sig rig so we can see what hardware you're working with besides the 4960X.
