my vote goes to the i5-3570k. they oc well and can be had for a deal from micro center in their bundle deals: http://www.microcenter.com/site/brands/intel-processor-bundles.aspx

Of those two, I'd go with the 4770K. The 4820K is based on the Ivy Bridge architecture therefore will have slightly lower per core performance while also consuming a good bit more power. Also is you are on a budget, X79 boards cost more therefore bringing total cost to a bit more than what the 4770K + Z87 board would cost.

In my opinion, if you're planning on utilizing more than 2 video cards go with an X79 setup. If you're planning no more than 2 video cards go with the 4770K.

in a word gaming, if it were just basic work stuff like word then it would be simple id just go with the i5. Ive got it down to two options an i7-4770k or i7-4820k the 4820 has a decent amt of advantages and im just trying to figure out it the LGA 2011 is a better pick over the LGA1150
