R9 280X Matrix vs. EVGA GTX 770 ACX

Thread Starter
The title is fairly self-explanatory. I've been looking for a GPU for my new system, and I want to spend about $300-$400 on a GPU. So far I have been looking at these two cards as my top picks, but I can't choose which one, because they are both the same price and both perform very similarly. Any suggestions?

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v80), default quality

It really comes down to the games you play and whether or not that card performs better in those games. If you ever plan on SLI or CF in the future, then I'd suggest the EVGA 770, because it is a dual slot card instead of a three slot like the ASUS.

Also, EVGA has an amazing warranty, that's something else to consider.

I would recommend the ASUS MATRIX-R9280X-P-3GD5 which will have better performance for the price and also has 3GB VRAM.

Like Jameyscott pointed out, the 770 is great for multi card options as it scales well and it leaves you room to grow. I have not had issues with the 2GB vram as others have mentioned and I do run multi monitor gaming.

EVGA has great service and their warranty is priceless, besides their step up program is pretty slick.
