I used artic silver5. What I did was put a little drop down, about the size of a grain of rice. Then I just put the heatsink on and the piece of metal that locks it in place. Unfortunately, it gets slippery and not a whole lot of space to work with so it usually spins on there slightly.

yeah thats not how your supposed to put it on a dual core, thats why your temps are high. read this http://www.arcticsilver.com/pdf/appi..._dual_wcap.pdf apply it like they say and you will see a drop in temps.

Well found out that because I left the vcore on auto in the bios that's why the temperature was so high. I changed it to manual and set it to 1.2125 and now it's running at 2.8. The temperature hasn't gone over 45 doesn't matter what stress test I throw at it. At one point I ran orthos + tat's 100% stress test at the same time. Idle is still around 32 after the overclocking. So I think it's safe now rite?

yeah if its staying low than its ok, i'm betting it was really pumping up the voltage. do some more testing to make sure. but i think your ok.

man, internet was down for 3 days, but I'm back now. I ran orthos for 8 hours using small fft and did not experience any problems whatsoever. Now I'm around 30 idle. Sometimes one core can drop to 25 and the other will drop to 28, I guess that my as5 is not spread out evenly.
